INSTALLATION TIPS

Do PVC tiles need to be glued?

ULTIMA tiles can generally be laid without adhesive, on a hard, smooth and clean substrate. However, there are certain conditions under which gluing is required to avoid distortion of the floor:

Cases requiring glue-down installation :

  • Direct exposure to the sun: glass entrances, south-facing bays, display windows, loading bays...
  • High temperatures: above 20°C, PVC can expand and create waves
  • Heavy vehicles and machines with short turning radii: forklifts, pallet trucks, electric trucks
  • Direct heat sources: catalytic converters, furnaces, industrial machines

If glued tiles need to be removed, this is entirely possible. The bond is strong, but does not prevent the tiles from being removed.

Do I have to leave an expansion joint?

Yes, as with any vinyl floor, a gap of between 5 and 7 mm is required between the tiles and the wall. 

Do I need to prepare the substrate?

Only if your floor is too damaged and uneven. In the vast majority of cases, levelling is not necessary. Our PVC tiles are flexible enough to adapt to the shape of the floor.

This is one of the main advantages of our solution, which almost never requires substrate preparation.

ULTIMA tiles are designed for indoor use.
However, if you wish to use them outdoors, they will need to be glued to prevent expansion.

What's the difference between virgin and recycled PVC?

RECYCLED PVC tiles are one of our best-sellers, thanks to their unbeatable price! However, the appearance is not as perfect as the classic range.

There are color inclusions in the mass because the PVC granulate used is not homogeneous. And the material is mixed with other recycled components.

Despite their inconsistent appearance, "ECO-RECYCLÉ" tiles remain a bestseller. Once installed, the final result creates an overall patina that is quite aesthetically pleasing.

Maintenance of PVC tiles?

The tiles are rot-proof and can be washed down with water (mop, scrubber-dryer).

For maintenance, we recommend Dr Schutz PU cleaner.

Can a single garage tile be replaced if necessary?

Yes, each tile is independent and can be unclipped, even right in the center of the surface.
